We're not only around the corner from the major tram & metro hub of Westbahnhof - we're also just a few minutes walk from the lovely Mariahilferstrasse, Vienna's most popular shopping avenue. This gorgeous mixed-use/pedestrian space (in many ways the heart of 21st century Vienna) will lead you all the way to the historic 'Old Town' on a 20-minute walk - we're also just a 20-minute walk away from the world heritage Palace Schönbrunn.
The main part of the Mariahilfer Straße shopping street can be reached in a 5-minute walk, and the Lugner City shopping centre is a 10-minute walk away.
The Westbahnhof features a public parking garage and direct connections to Vienna’s city centre by underground.
There is a good place in Vienna, near to the old center and buses/metro stations. But, in my room, there is a bad smelt (such as pee). I think it's an exeptation and finally I recommand this Auberge !!!
Right from the tariff, to the check in , to the 6 bed dorm. Everything at wombats was really very organised and very good. Very good location, very neat rooms, toilets were very clean, facilities were really good. There were many people i met at the reception , all the staff were really really helpful with the transportation assistance and the local things to do. There were really big lockers for each person. The common room was really comfortable and a very good place to socialize. Overall a very much recommended property .
The A&O Wien is located just 900 meters or one underground station from the Westbahnhof train station. The historic city centre, with its numerous sights, is easy to reach due to the excellent connections. With its central location, the A&O is ideal for those traveling by car or with the train.
Our Hostel is located near to the famous palace "Schönbrunn" and the zoo "Tiergarten Schönbrunn"
With Metro you can easiely go to the City centre.
The place is really close to a tram station which make it easy to arrive and go visiting.
Corridors and bedrooms are clean and the price is pretty cheap.
I was just a bit disapointed by the price of the breakfast that is quite expensive (7€).
Bien située par rapport au métro , simple, personnel agréable !
OK no more. A little weird to leave a deposit to cook, not enough in the spirit of an inn. You have to pay extra for your sheets, something less and less common in the middle
The hostel is a chain that is also a hotel. The dormitories of 6 people are relatively small, the bathroom tiny. Sheets are not free, no towels available and the cleanliness is relative. I was put in a dormitory of 6 people with 5 men, which was pretty strange. So I asked to change, the smell became unbearable, one of the hosts was constantly dragging me, while another smoked in the room while everyone slept and I pass you the snoring ... in the end when I I changed to a girls dorm, everything was cleaner, the roommates more respectful. Do not hesitate to change or specify a mixed dormitory (recommended) Highlight of the hostel: a bar, a play area and what to eat at night (pizza, etc.). The hostel is not central and it is 20 minutes from the center by metro. That said, the staff is very friendly and always ready to help you. Practice for a short time!
This hostel makes it easy to meet other backpackers. Clean room and location close to public transportation.
We are quiet and the beds are very comfortable.
Good overall stay
Pretty good hostel with some minor inconveniences.
Buena atencion al cliente
No matter what you want to see in Vienna, it is all just moments away from Wombats City Hostel Vienna at the Naschmarkt. The center can be reached within minutes by foot or the nearby U4 (at underground station Kettenbrueckengasse) provides a short connection between Schoenbrunn palace and the city center. It is ideal for anyone who wants to explore Vienna by day or night.
Being set in the midst of a 12ha green park area overlooking the city of Vienna there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy and explore nature by foot or bike. In addition there are also a few typical Viennese restraunts, the Ottakringer open-air pool, observatory, look-out, and various sightseeing venues in close proximity of the hostel, all easily accessible by car, bike, foot, or public transport.

In the room we were touched by rude and unpleasant people, the staff did nothing, for the rest of the things we asked for we didn't feel taken care of either
Unfriendly receptionists Only two kitchen fires worked In the room there were two quite unpleasant energumnos who did not let us sleep any of the two nights we spent, we complained and nothing, the next day they came at ten o'clock to tell us we had to leave the room after not having slept anything ... the drinks they give you are in a glass, you can't take them in a boat, I don't see this well because of the environmental issue. Very expensive for what it is
I regret the lack of French speaking staff
good welcome. clean and comfortable room. heated. perfect breakfast.
I stayed for 5 nights, and I am so thankful I chose to book here. The ambiance was very cozy, and relaxing. The room. bed. and bathroom were clean. The common areas are clean too. Its spacious and bright. The food was good. It was beyond what I expected. Great value!!
Awesome view, and great location. Close to downtown. The view is just beautiful. Very picturesque. Breakfast was really nice. room was clean, and beds were comfy. The staff were all kind and very helpful. I will be visiting again!
Nice and clean place
Our hostel is located right at the Central Station and is just a few kilometres from the center of Vienna. It takes you just 5 minutes using public transport to get to Old Town and it is there you can truly absorb the culture of the city- an assortment of museams and tourist landmarks are based here.
The A&O Wien Hauptbahnhof is located just 100 meters from the new central station where parts of the operation run since the summer of 2012 and will be fully operational in 2015. With this perfect connection the historic city centre with its numerous sights can be reached by foot in just a few minutes. The central location of the hostel and hotel is ideal for those arriving by car or train.
Nothing to say, perfect!
Had a lovely stay in this hostel. Great location. Beds were kinda old. Only one shower on the 3r floor for multiple dormitories would recommend to use the showers on the 4th floor as they are easier to use and more of them.
Accès très pratique en métro. Chambres agréables et propres malgré un gros point noir sur la salle de bain et notamment la douche. Un petit déjeuner correct et complet. Un personnel très agréable.
Although we only stayed one night, the stay was pleasant. We were 4 people in one room and we all enjoyed single beds without bunk beds. The shower was separated from the toilet and the sink, which in my opinion is a positive point as you do not block all the actions of the bathroom to the guests. There was a fan to protect us from the heat although the temperature in the room was not very hot either. As a negative point I can say that the water came out of the shower through a crack in the door
Well located right next to the train station, big hostel but a little too factory. The rooms are good with private showers. However, lack of plugs to charge electronic devices (only taken down and again, and when you're on the top bed, impossible to charge your laptop or anything else) Great lack of professionalism to the home, NO information given : - that it is at the level of the hostel: the sheets are not supplied in the price and the receptionists do not speak to you about it (why?), its operation quite simply (schedules, activities, common areas ...) - that it is at the level of the city (sites to visit, tickets of transport ...) Personal case: the receptionist gave me a room which did not correspond to my reservation. The mistake is human but hey, no excuses on his part, nothing. As normal, I would have recommended this hostel for its location and space but unfortunately too many mistakes.
It has been a great experience, the staff is 10.
Very welcoming receptionists, clean rooms just like the room of 6 and the bathroom, I recommend!
Staff very very cold, not friendly, not smiling, very dry. The beds were infested with mites, I was stung all night all over the body, despite the sheets provided
For the price we paid, it was very worth it, because more than a hostel, as in our room we were only three of us, it looked like a hotel. Very clean, with separate shower and bath and inside each room. The only bad thing was the location, which while it was next to the train station and the fast food restaurants in it, was a bit far from the city center (20-30 minutes walk to Karlsplatz or 3 stops of subway). Anyway, highly recommended, when I return to Vienna I already know where to go.
