Well located in Paris, near the Metro, the Parc des Buttes Chaumont and the Canal Saint Martin... The little extra: the bar on the 9th floor and the view of the rooftops of Paris (and the SacréCoeur) TOP!!!

it lacked cleanliness in the dorm where I slept for a few days. The bathroom toilets were constantly clogged and the door to one of the shower stalls was broken. But overall it can be ok, price-quality level

I will come back!

I am 53 years old, I came to Paris for a night with a friend. The room with bathroom and 2 twin beds was spacious, very clean, well maintained, as was the bathroom, well soundproofed, accessible to wheelchair users. It was perfect. The continental buffet breakfast at €7.50 had nothing to envy to the coffee formula, on the contrary.

Good location, not far from Belleville. The dorms are convenient and clean. the wi-fi doesn't really work. Anyone can enter the building, no entry control, no health pass control.

Furnishing and decoration very well. The private room for 8 was clean, rather comfortable, convenient with lockers for storage. Hostel quite quiet and silent. Well connected by metro. Check-in done at 0:15, it is a positive point. However, price a little excessive: 113 € 2 nights early July, at this price, we would like to have the breakfast included. The entrance to the inn very dirty. The check-in be careful: they register your card on the internet by taking the number of the card and the visual Cryptogram, we did not like it at all. Finally, little reception service in French. We would love to go to the terrace, but beware it's only a few days a week and at very limited times.

Despite being a youth hostel, it has a very comfortable hotel dynamic, with elevators and a bar on the first floor. The only problem I had was that men regularly entered the bathroom that was exclusively for women

To avoid if you are looking for a purely Parisian experience

Clean and comfortable rooms but no atmosphere, no impression of being in France. We could be in Paris, New York or Santiago, it would be the same. A deco in Vegas and an American welcome staff who speaks directly to us in English. Some hardly speak French or lose their smile when they speak French. Although the clientele is international, welcoming people saying "hello" rather than "hi guys" seems normal in Paris ... Correct neighborhood, no more. The hostel has the advantage of having a metro station 2 steps which facilitates travel.

Nice hostel, very good for spending the night

The hostel itself is well placed, just in front of a metro mouth, there is an organic supermarket and a French supermarket just next door, you can walk to a cinema VF-VO (10-15min or a metro station), there are many restaurants within 10 min walk, BREF the location is very good. At the reception level we will go back. I had to wait several hours for my room to be ready (and it is not for much in the end, we must leave the rooms at 10am but the rooms are sometimes not ready before 15-16h to finally find a brothel in the room and having to make the bed is even ..?) The ladies of the reception laughed every time they told us that our rooms were still not ready, level compassion we will iron. In the end, the reception was rather bad. The rooms are good (room of 10 mixed), the floors of the rooms are very quiet, very good to sleep or just rest. The temperatures in the rooms are adjustable (AC) and very pleasant. The floors are rather clean (it also depends a lot of people in the room with you, some are very clean and discreet, others put the brothel everywhere in the room, etc.). The bathrooms seem to be cleaned often, however there is no ventilation in the bathrooms, the smell quickly becomes strong and the atmosphere unpleasant if we do not leave all the doors open (this also creates ENORMOUSLY MOLD which is easily bleached in all showers but apparently nobody cares). /! \ The beds are very comfortable, the quiet rooms, the blankets are very good, the beds are equipped with a single lamp, an individual plug, a shelf, a net pocket to hold your things, each bed is assigned a large box that can be secured with a padlock even very small. In front of the Colonel Fabien metro. Close to a lot of things. Easy access. Rooftop terrace with magnificent views. Smoking areas. Comfortable bistro on the ground floor. Rentable casies very cheap (3euros 6h for the largest locker, 4euros for 12h, easy to use). Laundry room of clothes. /! \ No workspace (desks or tables) or quiet space apart from the rooms (this can be boring if you want to work or relax in silence because there will always be some noisy people coming here to have fun around from you).

HOSTEL WITH FRIENDELY PERSONAL, BUT WITH CONSTANT ANNOYING MUSIC

The staff was very nice and service-minded. One big disadvantage was that Generator is so anxious about apperaing youthful and modern so it becomes ridiculous. Constantly they are playing music, and it´s only american/bristish music, never french. Why can´t they tolerate silence for a short while at least. And if it´s necessary with constant music, why can´t they choose anything else than the anglosaxican one. Almost everywhere there is music fron U.K or Usa, why can´t Generator in PARIS, France play a "chanson" sometimes.

Friendly welcome from our arrival, impeccable staff, spacious room with terrace very nice view of the Eiffel Tower, great atmosphere at the bar in the evening, one downside: coffee freeze dried ... A good coffee in the morning (for those who like) to get the day off to a good start, and it was perfect.

A successful first experience in a youth hostel.. The modern room is very functional and very well thought out: the toilet is separated from the bathroom, the sink is not located in the shower so you can prepare yourself even if there is several of oyu in the room and the lockers under the bed are convenient to organize clothes. The staff is very welcoming and the hostel is located a few meters from the metro station. Only downside: we could not enjoy the rooftop terrace closed during our stay. It is a shame as the view and the place looked fantastic. I will renew the experence with generator as I enjoyed the concept.

I am not hyper fan of the shared rooms so I took a private room which was super clean! The staff is great, I loved the place and the recommended 1000%. Moreover the geographical situation is very good since one is at maximum -10 min of the central station

Pleasant dorms with max 6 people and comfortable beds, but no common shower, you have to manage 1 shower for 6 people. No common areas very warm, no kitchen but just a restaurant. A little disappointing

The hostel is located a short walk from the central bus station and it’s close to everything! The environment and the stuff really welcoming and the atmosphere pleasant anytime during the day. The room was perfectly clean. Really good experience I would definately recommend!

Les points fort : l'emplacement et l'agencement des chambres super bien pense. 5 min à pied de la gare centrale (qui est reliée directement à l'aéroport) et très proche du centre donc tous les points touristiques peuvent se faire à pied. Bémol pour ceux qui recherchent l'ambiance des auberges de jeunesse, même s'il y a un bar et un restau juste en bas très sympa, l'ambiance et le personnel font plutôt pensé à un hôtel.

The hostel is very close to the Swiss railway station from where one can take trams and buses in any direction.

I stayed for 3 nights in an 8 bed dorm. The rooms were ok, the 4 bunk beds filled the room. This was my first ever hostel stay and it didnt put me off hostels, even when one guest stole my iPod. The kitchen had good facilities and the common room is nice

It's a 3 minute walk from the SBB station. They give you a mobility ticket to use he public transport for free during your stay. The kitchen is great. Internet connection is very good in almost the whole building. The both girls working in reception

Apart from the fact that a drunk stunned man came into the bedroom in the middle of the night, I felt safe. However, 2 other women in the same room did not sleep by night. I was told that this man had booked the women's room only from the web. But then why did the reception give her the keys ??? The most disturbing thing is that he had no luggage and said that he had slept in this room the day before ...

Generator has many areas to relax in and the staff are super helpful. The elevators have key access which makes it good for safety. This is one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed in. The wifi is strong and play room has computers.

I spent my first week in Barcelona at the Generator Hostel. It was a great way to assimilate to Barcelona. They have connections with the free walking tour and tapas tour. There's a bar downstairs that serves great beer and delicious patatas bravas.

The staff is delightful, warm, and friendly. I had class the day I checked out. They let me keep my bags at the hostel for the day until I returned. I also accidentally lost the key to my luggage lock. Without hesitation, the Generator staff helped me cut the lock so I could get to my stuff. While there I met other students on exchange and individuals in town for job interviews. I stayed in a 8 person co-ed dorm. Plenty of space, personal plugs for each bunk, and extremely comfortable. Well located but basic equipment

The hostel is well located. The floor sheave is friendly, and the beds comfortable. Nevertheless the bathroom turns into a swimming pool from the first shower, two bedside lamps were broken as were the sockets. there is no common area for cooking and eating food outside the hotel.

We had a great weekend at Generator Hotel. Ideal hostel to spend a weekend or a week in Berlin to discover the city.

We were three and had taken a room for four to be quiet, we slept very well there and we felt very good there. The hostel has very pleasant common areas, the hostel is quite quiet and the lunch / dinner menu is quite good and very accessible. The neighborhood is very nice and the hostel is located 1 metro stop from Friedrichstraße station (very well served station). We highly recommend this hostel and wish to come back on sunny days.

The room was very small, very dirty, impossible to ventilate, not practical for a room for 6!

The room lacked cleanliness, no possibility of ventilating the room, the bathroom and the toilet being in this very small room, it is very disturbing for the smell and the humidity. Only one in three people are very welcoming at reception. Reassuring and open terrace for a very long time, good atmosphere in the chill corner.

No room cleaning even after asking. Broken lamp. I have never eaten such an industrial breakfast. What a shame with the good breads you have in Germany ...

The place and the setting of the hostel are at the top. On the other hand, the toilets in the rooms deserve better maintenance. And it would be more convenient to have them on the landing rather than in the rooms.

Nous avons passé 3 très bonnes nuits dans cette auberge à l’accueil très chaleureux. L’endroit est moderne, bien décoré et chaleureux également. Les chambres sont très bien, bien équipées, et la literie est très bonne ! Le seul bémol partagé avec mes 6 autres amis qui étaient présents était la douche. Pas très pratique car pas de pommeau de douche. Un point positif à noter aussi: le calme ! Nous n’avons jamais été dérangé par le bruit ! Je recommande vivement !

It was pretty good for what it cost, the only thing is that it was a bit far. The rest was great, lockers and beds very good. Under the beds there were bars for backpacks, which provided security. A very good experience for interrailers.

Very cool as a place, modern. The rooms are good, there is space to move around without invading the bubble of other people. A rolling locker under the bed. The mattresses are comfortable. And the bonus, a little rave on the terrace of the hostel on Saturday and Sunday! It was very nice!! I was very happy to have booked at this hostel!

Not the most charming hostel ...

We stayed in dormitory of 8 beds for the financial aspect. However we were very disappointed that there is no kitchen, but considering the number of normal rooms ... By cons it is even asked not to bring food outside because the hostel has its own service of restoration but when you want to respect a budget ... not great. The "lockers are actually drawers under lots that do not lock ... What's more, the halls smell too strong disinfectant, and it's really not warm.Personal level it depends on who we are dealing. The bar, however, is nice and not very expensive - overall not the most cozy stay.

A good atmosphere and a warm welcome, despite this a really dirty room that leaves a bad impression. The hostel is well placed, outside the center of Berlin but next to transport which is a very positive point.

We had few problems during our stay. Our cards disactivated many times and we had to activate again, walk 7 floors up and down many times cause the lifts were broked, had one of our bed giving to someone else the first night.

Generator Hostel is ok, not the best hostel I’ve been to, though. It is very big and well placed, right next to every mean of public transport, and near many places you can get by bike or just walking. What I found quite uncomfortable was that you are not allowed to use the kitchen to cook for your own and there is only one slow elevator for the seven floors. Nevertheless I enjoyed my stay in Generator Hostel and would recommend it to anyone wanting to meet Berlin.

The hostel is in a good area in East Berlin, very close to public transports and a supermarket. It could be nice but it seems the hostel is more a factory than a hostel. Very crowdy, no kitchen for travellers to cook for themselves. No plugs near the beds. I doubt the cleaning is made everyday in the rooms as it is said. There are lockers in each room for your stuff but you need your own padlock. It is not the best hostel ever but it does the job, there are comfy bed and clean linen

Very welcoming hostel, with a festive and relaxed atmosphere. There is the possibility to request dormitories for women which can be reassuring for women traveling alone. The rooms are ok, good after you have to be equipped not to be disturbed by the returns or late arrivals of other travelers. Then there are discounts on drinks and food from the hostel, which can be a good plan for not eating too much.

They have good rooms but without common kitchen.

This is not a hostel, it's a hotel! Everything is paying, and no common kitchen! The breakfast is very average (coffee, fruit salad and fruit juice BEURK) and you have to pay the extra fruit, everything is good to make money.

Noise level at a minimum, whether it is noise from the street, and from the corridors. Impeccable toilets. Small flat for the hair dryer in the female collective sanitary facilities which did not work. Full and inexpensive breakfast, but you have to come early. Fair prices in general. Small grocery store nearby. Very well located, slightly outside the center, in a renovated and pleasant area. Luas Red Line (tramway) a stone's throw away to quickly reach the center, otherwise 20 min on foot max. Also close to Heuston Station, to catch a South Westbound train. We highly recommend.

Really kind staff, always there if you nees any help. Dormrooms clean and very well equipied. Sanitary very clean also and their amount is more than enough for all the people hosted there. My trip in Dublin was a success partly thanks to this hostel!

The staff was extremely helpful - before arrival and during my stay. I was able to book a great day trip to the Cliffs of Moher through the front desk. The lockers in the rooms held all my stuff easily and were secure.

This is a GOOD hostel. The layout of the bar / cafe downstairs is great, dark and cosy, a bit hipster but not too loud or expensive. The rooms are small but not poky - my 6 bed female dorm had its own bathroom with a great shower, lockable drawers under each bed and all the modern trappings such as two plugs behind each pillow and a personal light. I arrived at 9 am and was politely told that check in as at 2pm, however they checked to see if my room had been cleaned and told me to wait in the bar - within half an hour the lovely women at reception had come to find me and give me my key! The location is great - about 8 minutes walk to Henry Street, maybe 12 minutes to O'Connel Street.

Generator is a good place to stay when you what to visit Dublin! Even if there arent't a kitchen, there is a food market near, to eat at low price

A first for me in Youth Hostel! Impeccable hotel, according to the descriptions. Warm welcome, nice atmosphere, very well equipped. Correct room, immaculate bathroom. The only problem, if I had to come back, I would choose a higher floor

The room lacked aeration of the blow at night it is very hot inside.

A nice place to rest, a lively and welcoming place. The hostel is well kept and the rooms in very good condition. It is a very new building in a somewhat lofty spirit.

Lots of people but it's pretty smooth. Well placed, you can do almost everything on foot. The collective toilets may need to be refurbished.

There were many families but also many nice people who wanted to party. Very close to the train station if u take Eurostar. Unfortunately my 10 bedroom was only filled by 2 other ppl at best but I still made absolutely wholesome friends in the bar people are very friendly. The bar turns out into a nightclub so that's great. Unfortunately like other nightclubs in this city during the week it closes at 3.

Halftone experience

The +: ideal location, large room, clean premises, correct bedding, usb socket directly at the bed level. The -: cold water shower for me (bad luck?), doors of the shower cabins that do not close (or badly), no shared kitchen (annoying especially for backpackers), technically not allowed to eat or drink products that do not come from their bar / restaurant, staff who do the minimum (not many explanations on arrival), a lot of people, very industrial. I recommend only if you plan to make a short stay in London.

Room of three booked for a week in London

Well placed, all within easy reach of subway or bus. Showers on our floor a little limit level practicality and hygiene (do not forget his pair of flip flops!) But never needed to wait for washing. Nice atmosphere, cocooning TV and pub available in the hotel.

Nice youth hostel well located and clean. However, it was extremely hot. The window of the room opened little and there was no air conditioning or fan, which made our stay a pain!

It was definitely worth the time to get to know my room mates.

We came with my brothers for 4 days and it was perfect. We did everything by walk or by bike (station just near the hostel). Nice area, quiet and safe. Very clean and bed very comfortable.

Practical and comfortable place

Comfortable and practical because close to transport and in particular Termini station; Moreover, the restaurant is quite good. The problem because there is one: the risk of having a group of party-goers in an adjacent room who largely forget that they are not alone and slam their doors and talk loudly until well past 1 a.m.... But otherwise it’s a great address.

Very nice hostel with only one problem

The reception is very good, very easy to understand. The staff speaks decent English. As for the room and the bed, nothing special to say. The two bathrooms present in the room of 6 are also good. Only problem we could not lower the temperature of the thermostat which is unfortunate because it was extremely hot in the room ... To see if this is generalized or a simple problem of the room. Otherwise nothing to complain about, I recommend this hostel.

At the arrival, I paid a little more than what expected because of a tax to sleep in Rome which was not specified. I would have appreciated that they told me exactly how much I had to pay at my arrival. Then I thought breakfast was included but it was not. Unfortunately, I found out when I already took to eat so I had to pay but 7,5 euro for the breakfast is too much in my opinion. It's much better to have breakfast outside where for the half of the price you can get a much much better breakfast. If I had known before I would have never taken the breakfast at the hostel where the quality is nothing special. I would have appreciated that at the reception at my arrival they would have specified this aspect which was not very clear to me. The lady who was in charge to check the breakfast ticket was also very rude. The ladies at the reception, on the contrary, were very nice. the hostel was very clean.

Petsonnel friendly and dedicated, nice place and very well placed

This hostel is very good. Its location allows you to quickly access tourist spots while retreating to a quiet island for the night. The staff is especially at your service, answering all your questions and suggesting the best places and how to get there. They also ensure that people respect the calm and serenity of other guests. The only downside is the layout of showers and toilets that are clearly insufficient for the number of users and there is no hand soap, nothing to dry hands and often no toilet paper. As a result, a girl got seized and everyone had the flu the following days. The showers certainly lack ergonomics and privacy! In addition, this hostel has no common kitchen and does not consume food that does not come from their coffee. But overall, it is an excellent hostel.
