Amstel House Hostel Berlin

I enjoyed sleeping there and working there during the day. I would have stayed longer, but a school group of young students filled the hotel, which meant that to register for the remaining days of the week, I would have had to pay for each night, four (4) times the price (in total 60 Eu per night) that I had paid for the previous night.

Nice and spacious room for 4 people (a little extra to have a tap in the room) comfortable bed, a little noisy in the corridors but it's a big hostel so there's a lot of traffic. The big downside is the bathrooms, whose equipment is outdated, plus the cleaning is superficial and insufficient (mold, marks on the walls).

The staff is very friendly and welcoming

Pleasant staff, however the hostel is very well maintained. Very dirty toilets. Basic cleaning in the rooms as in the rest of the hostel.

However, school groups are particularly noisy, even after 10:30 p.m.… functional kitchen

Perfect stay, the staff is smiling and available, the spaces are cleaned twice a day and we have a locker for our belongings. Small negative point: no space to put things in the shower: request to develop techniques

The hostel is fairly easy to find, located a short walk from a fairly busy street. As a result, the hostel is fairly quiet. It's nice to have heaters that work well in winter :) Large room to meet and have lunch together. Hearty breakfast at the price of 6 €. I look forward to going back there with friends;

The common areas are clean and the beds very comfortable. Little regret, however, at the price of certain services, for example € 5 for ping pong, or € 7 for a 2 hour late checkout.

Good location, good area to stay in Berlin. Tube next to hostels. The room was very clean, wooden floor, good mattress, big window. The shared bathroom and toilets were very clean. Shared kitchen clean and well appointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful which makes the staying even nicer. On the floors toilets doors could be made quieter as they shut very quickly and loud. We were quite unlucky as we stayed same time as a big Teenager holiday 'camp' so the floors and loundge were pretty noisy! Despite all that I recommend the Amstel House Berlin.

We were well received by the hostel staff. The services available (bar, games room, breakfast) were nice. No worries in the rooms or bathrooms for us.

This is a superbly located hostel (public transport a few steps away and close to important monuments) The atmosphere is great. The staff is attentive and very friendly. There are small events during the week to meet the other people of the hostel. Really, I recommend everyone to go to this hostel. In addition the prices are affordable (really cheap) and everything is always clean)

Excellent hostel: spacious and modern rooms, clean bathrooms. The breakfast is very complete and the common room very welcoming. Friendly staff, possibility of buying something to eat or drink depending on the days of the week and friendly neighborhood with small restaurants and shops nearby. Only downside: a little far from the center, about 30min to get to Alexanderplatz by public transport. Nevertheless, considering all the qualities of the hostel, it is not disturbing!

The hostel is in a nice neighborhood and quite alive. There are a lot of cool places to eat, recommended by the staff. The room (of 4) and the shared bathrooms were clean. Secure closet, sink and furniture in the room. Large and pleasant common room to eat, drink or coffee, play pool below.

Nice hostel, a big flat anyway: the common kitchen. A single fridge, no shelves dedicated to dry goods, no teaspoons, no garbage sorting, and very restrictive opening hours.

Super auberge avec une grande cuisine. Localisation pas très loin du centre ville et proche de transports en commun;)

Everything is correct, the only downside is that it is a bit far from the center.

Clean and very friendly. There are mixed and individual bathrooms. It is not very central but it is very well connected with buses and metro

I recommend this hostel in which I made a stay when I arrived in Berlin and another few days before my departure by plane. Professionalism of the team, location of the hostel near shops and restaurants, atmosphere, everything is fine.

I spent only one night but I was delighted, quality price level nothing wrong, very quiet, room with 4 girls very well.

A refresh of the dormitories to predict

Staff was very helpful and it is near some markets and food shops. Beds and toilets were clean. On average, it is a hostel for those people how doesn't care about being a lit bit out of center, specially with the great public transportation system of Berlin.

The dorm and bathrooms were clean. The staff was cool and helpful. You can have a beer for 1,5 euros on the happy hours!!

Good vibe in the common rooms, great staff. I also liked that they had a buffet breakfast but there was another kitchen people staying there could use.

Ithe hostel was very clean and well presented without being flash. Staff were always on tap when needed and helpful. Staff spoke English too which was very helpful. The happy hour was a good idea also. The breakfast was good and sufficient for a start to the day.

Fairly central, easy to get around Berlin from their location (but the metro map they provide is 3 years old and there is a lot of construction currently going on so some lines are closed/altered). Reasonably-sized rooms. €1,50 beers at happy hour was a plus!

I liked how friendly the staff was and how clean and spacious the rooms were.

Big common area with a of of things to do. Happy hours was great and there was a pool table, ping pong and a lot of places to sit and meet other travellers

Loved the friendliness and chilled atmosphere about the place, I felt instantly welcome and at home, perfect for a first time traveller who may be a little apprehensive. The staff were so quick to jump to any request or assist in any way they could whether it was ordering a drink or asking about directions to certain locations or even recommendations. Amazing place!

Very nice place - nice reception with comfy sofas, bar, big common area, great breakfast n super friendly staff. As well I like, that the hostel offers female bedrooms with only 4 beds.

Nice, clean, safe and close to the center. You just take one U-train and you're there. The hostel is close to the Westhafen S-Bahn station, from where you easily get almost anywhere. The staff was very helpful as well.
