The Morris Burner Hostel is a membership-based hostel that is guided by the same 10 Principles guiding the Burning Man Event. It is a little taste of Burning Man without the dust! We are a small, boutique hostel rich in art and experience. Our dorm rooms are small, two and three beds maximum, along with private rooms. There are shared bathrooms, a communal kitchen, and an amazing community! We offer art classes, almost all are free, and a rich community atmosphere. Come play with us!

Social and fun

We offer free art classes on "Art Tuesdays", and events constantly. We need to do some updating to re-open our venue, but do have a pool table, communal kitchen and lots and lots of space. We have a communal meal Thursday nights and there's generally something going on we try to get guests to come along to.

The building that encompasses the Morris began construction in 1928, and was completed in 1931. It was originally built by the Savage family, one of Reno's oldest established businesses with Savage and Sons Plumbing. Jungle Jim Gibson took it over in 2013 and 2018 will mark our 5th year in existence! Upgraded with mostly volunteer labor, it is now a mecca for Burning Man and other art in ever spare space. We are proud of what community can do, and continue to be inspired. Come see us!

Important information

In times of uncertainty and your peace of mind, we recommend you select a flexible rate with free cancellation. If your plans change, you can always cancel free of charge until the cancellation expires.

All guests who stay at the Morris MUST purchase a membership! It can be for as little as $5 if you know the 10 Principles. We do not have an elevator and our accessibility for guests needing adaptive devices for mobility is limited. All guest rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Thanks for understanding, our building is old!
