About the place
HostelYoung, hip, cosy and safe – awarded “Best Hostel in Tanzania 2015 & 2016” – that’s Rafiki Backpackers & Guesthouse. The name rafiki means friend in Ki-Swahili and as such you shall feel from arrival to departure and beyond (if you wish!). Since February 2012, we welcome Globetrotters, adventurers, mountain climbers and volunteers from all around the world in our petit 18 rooms budget accommodation in Moshi Tanzania.

Surroundings
Located in the green, idyllic neighborhood of Rau on the outskirts of Moshi, you can easily reach the town center within a 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes taxi drive. The choice is yours!

Good to know
Rafiki Backpackers & Guesthouse was founded in 2012 as a hostel and before had been operating as a volunteer house. In summer 2015 we finished building a new compound, which hosts our individual travellers, while our annex can be the home for groups and long stay travellers.

The staff were really helpful and help you organize your transportation and tours making sure that they do not charge you more than what's necessary. There is so much to see around here.
The hostel is located outside the city center although it's not far so you can really enjoy the tranquility that nature has to offer. There is also a bar for eating, drinking and relaxing in the evenings. The breakfast has different choices which was nice.
