The People - Marseille

My stay at the hostel was good. Getting to the train station and the city center is easy on foot. The staff was super friendly. The only downside is that the place to store our bags is quite small. My travel bag didn't fit.

Good value for money. Well located in Marseille (near the old port and St. Charles train station).

Beautiful setting, clean, and conveniently located for getting around Marseille. What ruined the night was the heating in the room, which kept turning on at a stifling 29°C! And the Wi-Fi and 4G network are very poor.

The night I arrived the recepcionist could not give me a room key (said machine was broken) and I could not get out of my room. No apologies were provided, no alternatives. Next morning, the same. Apart from this horrible start, place is ok. Rooms are clean, although toilets' floor get flooded easily. Some receptionists are nice, others not so much. They seem overworked. Breakfast is expensive for what it offers (very little). Lots of people from the street often hang out in the patio. Some nice people in the hotel, some strange ones.

Everything was great. The welcome, the room, great! The net in the courtyard remains but it's a detail!

There are still a few small things to improve. There is a lack of coat racks in the toilets, women's showers as well as furniture, shelves, or coat racks to put your things on in the bedrooms and a water point/sink in the kitchen.

The People hostel is a super nice hostel, new and clean. The dorm rooms are good with enough space to move around. The beds are good quality and have storage and there are lockers to store your belongings. The common areas are clean (toilets, showers) and often cleaned. The reception and bar are open all the time and the terrace is big enough to find a place. The location of the hostel is in the center of Marseille, close to the tram, which makes getting around easy. I highly recommend this hostel!

I stayed 3 nights at the People hostel, sleeping in the 8-bed dormitory. The room is good with bed, light locker. A little problem with 2 showers that didn't work in the bathroom, these are problems that happen but I really liked the person at the reception who was very smiling, accommodating and who I think is in good condition. spirit of a youth hostel where conviviality takes precedence. I didn't spend a lot of time in the hostel but the breakfast offered is very good, I don't know if activities are offered by the hostel or partners, which could be nice!

Juste dans les douches, prévoir une séparation entre la partie porte-serviette et douche car c'est un peu trop humide. Sinon, j'ai passé un bon séjour.

Good youth hostel where I spent the night before resuming my trip. The premises are clean and welcoming, as are the reception staff. You will spend a peaceful and relaxing night there.

I really enjoyed my stay.

I felt completely safe in the hostel and the location is great. For what it offers, I find it too expensive. It has no washing machine and no kitchen.... The common room is well made, so that it is easy to have a conversation with other people.

Very pleasant setting with small inner courtyard, very nice bar area, simple and colorful decoration, very comfortable and very quiet room, very well soundproofed, with very cozy bed (small lamp with adjustable brightness, socket, curtain), bathroom very clean ... my only regret is the "kitchen" room: a microwave and a fridge, so no possibility of cooking, or even washing dishes. This is a well placed hostel in the city, right next to the basket. There is a lot of movement and diverse and varied people (families, couples, of all ages ..), very nice. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. There is also a bar which serves drinks, tapas and breakfast in the morning with two options to choose from. The atmosphere is really pleasant, it is good to live there. The staff are also very outgoing.

A single nuisance specific to youth hostels, noise in the middle of the night, such as doors slamming mainly, which remains tolerable over a week's stay. Perfect location near the lively areas of the city, the train station, public transport. Ideal to stay.

Compliant, pleasant staff, very decent room. A few small concerns to resolve: there is not yet a shared kitchen as indicated on the site, the showers depending on the rooms lack flow (thin trickle) and in the evening there is no longer hot water.
