Location, staff.
Extremely nice staff. Perfect location for skiing - there's a direct downhill route from hotel to wengen bahnhof and to mannlichen gondola station.
Good buffet breakfast with a wide selection. My room was basic with a comfortable bed, a terrace and a great view on the mountains and piste. The hotel outdoor bar was the apres-ski place-to-be!
The breakfasts were excellent. Great to be able heat and eat your own food, with free tea and coffee.
Staff were very welcoming it was a bonus that you could buy your own basic food and use the lobby facilities to prepare. Ski in/out also a bonus, but then a lot of the accommodate in Wengen is!
