Firefly Eco Retreat is an eco-camp situated on the cliff edge in Shimoni overlooking Wasini Island.

Welcome to Firefly Eco Retreat, the perfect land base for Marine adventurers & Exploration.
Nestled beneath the lush green canopies of Shimoni’s coral rag forest, is a safe haven for fireflies, Fish Eagles, King Fishers, and a wonderful place to see shooting stars.

The safari-style tents are both spacious and comfortable.

Our camp is designed to complement the surrounding nature, our restaurant serves fresh seafood and we offer accommodation in luxury tents.

Bar onsite with cocktails and local drinks.

Take advantage of enchanting Ocean views, a large swimming pool with a lounge area.

Social and fun

Our Ocean Front tents are perched on a raised platform with both a private deck and a private balcony extending above the water.
They are furnished with a double bed, fridge, kettle and electric fan.

Fall asleep to the sound of the gentle ocean, and wake to the chirps o of the resident birdlife and shrieks of the Fish Eagles.

Toilets and showers are shared with the few other tents we have scattered throughout the forest.

Massages and spa facilities are also available.

The Campsite is your gateway to the famous Kisite & Mpunguti Marine Park Popular for fishing, snorkelling and diving.

Shimoni Jetty is only 800 m away!
Jetty is 1.7 km away.
Ukunda Airport is 44 km away. ( Taxi 1h )

Underwater photographers flock here from all over the world to see a myriad of critters, frogfish, pipefish, nudibranchs, seahorses, juvenile fish, and other exotic animals.

Other Attractions are the Historical Sister Caves and the Famous Shimoni Slave Cave Ramisi river is also close by and day trips could be arranged for Bird Watching or Kite Surfing Wasini Island.

Game reserve and Tsavo East National Park can also be arranged from the Camp.
