About the place
HostelLoch Ness Backpackers is a friendly Highland hostel for you to relax in while you're exploring the Highlands of Scotland. We pride ourselves on our warm atmosphere and our local knowledge, and also on our welcoming family-friendly bar where we specialise in Scottish beers and whiskies.
Social and fun
The hostel bar is open every day from around 5pm. We don't organise planned events - we prefer just to adapt to what our guests seem to want each evening, from guitar jam evenings, to board games, to watching football on the big screen, to wandering up to the castle together.

Surroundings
Our hostel is located on the edge of the small village of Drumnadrochit, close to the famous Urquhart Castle, and a 20-minute walk from Loch Ness. We are in a quiet neighbourhood, right next to a park and within easy walking distance of lots and lots of walking trails, as well as local amenities including a supermarket and post office.

Good to know
Our old farmhouse has been here for over 200 years - you can read about it on the wall in the living room - and the hostel has been running for over 25 years. Patrick and Nikki took over in 2016 and are running it with their young family.

- As we have a licence to sell alcohol, it is illegal to bring in alcohol from outside. This is a condition of our license, and not our own rule.
- Please note that we do not allow children under 16 years old in shared dorm accommodation unless your group books out a full room.
- Pets are accepted into uncarpeted rooms only, so guests MUST contact us prior to booking to check whether the room they would like to book is pet-friendly. (The family rooms are not pet-friendly.)

a very good place with cosy living room and laundry
Well equipped, well located (shopping, visits), warm welcome, warm atmosphere
beautiful and peaceful place with very nice owner! Comfortable bed, bathroom very clean, nice kitchen and bar with a lot of beer (ask for advised if you can't choose)!
Clean hostel, very friendly staff. I highly recommend to spend time close to Lochness
