Nomads (Formerly Base) Magnetic Island

Great hostel with a great vibe situated right on the beach with its own bar so what's not to love. Welcoming and friendly staff made me feel more at home and that's important to me as I'm travelling alone. Had a great few days and nights here so I'm definitely planning to head back.

Very beautiful location and clean, air contioned rooms, that were individual cottages. Pool area was great, and you could go to the beach from the hostel.

It feels like a resort than a hostel, its directly on the beach and has amazing views! The staff are great too!

Base on Magnetic Island is not just a hostel, it's a truely awesome experience, especially since it is located directly at the beach. All the huts and cabins are beautiful and cozy, the only setback of the facilities would be that it can get quite warm in the huts and cabins. Besides that it is a lovely place, the island offers plenty of things to do - I hiked along the coast to Horseshoebay and saw every single bay, every one of them is unique and very laid back, you feel like you're jumping from one postcard into another. If you wanna party this is the place to be, but it's great to chill out and have an easy going time, too.

It is easy to reach on the island. There is a pool, though it was dirty on our first day and then closed for the other two, presumably for chemical treatment. Bummer. The tent we had was quite cheap. Nightly drink specials will appeal to both those who just want to have a beer and look out on the sea and those who want to party. The hostel itself is fine, but no more. Try to get a bed at the YHA instead, I have only heard good things about it.

Nice settings and a sweet pool where you can chill. You get one free breakfast at the café which was prob the best brekky Ive had in aus. The bar had a great atmosphere even though it was Sunday & Monday when I was there.
