The Ostello dei Sassi - a brand new structure opened in July 2015 - has been created from the restoration of old farmhouses called "lamioni" and is the starting point to discover all the secrets of Matera.
Matera’s old town is an astonishing network of cave houses, known as ‘sassi’. Bars, restaurants and hotels are built into the limestone rock face and you can take a walk through uninhabited caves.

What a beautiful place and what a surprise for me. The Ostello dei Sassi is an extraordinary hostel. I really like. A clean place. A place with charm. It is a great place to visit Matera, the marvelous city.
