HostelPura Vida Hostel in Tamarindo, Costa Rica has been providing guests with memorable travel experiences since 2006. We are a friendly, inexpensive hostel that welcomes backpackers and vacationers from all over the world. We welcome the opportunity to host your stay in Tamarindo. Our multi-lingual staff is happy to provide recommendations on restaurants, bars, attractions, getting to your next destination and, of course, surfing. Trips, tours and transportation can be booked at our reception.

Max, the receptionist, is very relaxed and the VIDA PURAAA lifestyle is 100% applied. More seriously, everything went very well. Hygiene is not at its best but it remains very acceptable. The common areas are very welcoming, what a pleasure.
Friendly hostel, good value for money
It's nice to want to make your place in the sun, you'll have to professionalize to keep it. *Person at the reception *Does not speak Spanish *We have to put our bed linen ourselves *No one cleans *Obsolete equipment *I had 2 shorts stolen from the common rack: reaction=shrug
The hostel is frequented with a variety of travellers so its a great place to meet and exchange stories. Live music can be heard from 10MA to 11 PM and the staff encourages social meetings. There might be an issue with mosquitoes given the area so beware.
The hostel has a well-equipped kitchen, a good size communal area, lots of open spaces to chill and chat. About 5 mins walk to the beach, the best spot for surfing enthusiasts.
